Conclusion on classification

A classification of charcoal, coconut shell for toxic effects on the environment is not possible, since no information from relevant ecotoxicological studies is available. However, the low water solubility and the general absence of toxicity of charcoal, coconut shell observed in toxicological in vitro and in vivo studies suggest that this compound is not toxic to the environment.
