Description of key information

The concentration of charcoal Probe 4 (charcoal, coconut shell) in water was determined from the LOQ of total carbon (1.44 mg/L) and the total carbon (81.85%) of the test item (determined by elementary analysis) as: < 1.76 mg/L at 21.3°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
1.76 mg/L
at the temperature of:
21.3 °C

Additional information

All samples showed good correspondence. All measurements at both flow rates lay below the limit of quantification (LOQ) of total carbon (TC) (1.44 mg/L C) and above the limit of detection (LOD) of the used carbon analyser of 0.357 mg/L.

The concentration of the test item was therefore calculated from the LOQ of TC and the carbon content of the test item (81.85%) as <1.76 mg/L at 21.3°C.

No observations arousing doubts concerning the accuracy of the results and the validity of the study were made.
