Description of key information

Following an expert assessment of the test material, it was determined that it is not likely to possess explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The assessment of the structural properties of the test material was awarded a reliability score of 2 in accordance with the criteria set forth by Klimisch et al (1997).

A structural examination and an oxygen balance calculation for the test material were performed in accordance with the ‘Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment – Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance’ in order to assess the requirement for further testing of the explosive potential.

An examination of the structure of the test material reveals that it contains no groups which are known to be associated with explosive properties. The oxygen balance of the test material was calculated to be -304.83 As this value is less than -200, a negative result for explosive properties can be predicted.

Following an expert assessment of the test material, it was determined that it is not likely to possess explosive properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, the substance does not require classification with respect to explosivity.

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex VI, Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD), the substance does not require classification with respect to explosivity.
