Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One experimental study investigating the toxicity of triacetin (CAS 102-76-1) to freshwater algae is available (Toray Research Center, 1998). The study was conducted according to OECD 201 under GLP conditions using the freshwater algae Selenastrum capricornutum. Five concentrations up to a maximum of 1000 mg/L (nominal) were tested in a static exposure regime. The test substance concentrations were determined analytically by GC/FID. A NOEC (72 h) of 468 mg/L and an EC50 (72 h) of > 940 mg/L based on the measured (geom. mean) concentrations based on the growth rate resulted.
