Conclusions:
The solubility of Tris(2,3-Dibromoisopropyl)isocyanurate “AP 729” in milli-Q water is found to be 5.07 mg/L at pH 6.5 and 20°C, which concludes that the test item is poorly soluble in water.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of Tris(2,3-Dibromoisopropyl)isocyanurate “AP 729” was determined as per OECD guideline 105, Water Solubility (Adopted: 27 July 1995) and United States Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances (TS-7101), Product Properties Test Guidelines, OPPTS 830.7840, “Water Solubility: Column Elution Method; Shake Flask Method”, EPA 712-C-98-041 (March 1998).
The water solubility of the test item Tris(2,3-Dibromoisopropyl)isocyanurate “AP 729” was found to be less than 10
-2 g/L in milli-Q water during preliminary test. For further confirmation the definitive test was performed in milli-Q water under laboratory condition at 20°C by column elution method. The samples were analyzed for test item concentration by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The solubility of the test item in milli-Q water with flow rate 25 mL/hour and 12.5 mL/hour was found to be 5.14 mg/L and 5.00 mg/L respectively. The calculated mean concentration was obtained to be 5.07 mg/L at 20°C.
Method validation parameters evaluated for Tris(2,3-Dibromoisopropyl)isocyanurate “AP 729” meets the acceptance criteria. The results obtained are within the specified limits. Thus, this method is suitable for the analysis of Tris(2,3-Dibromoisopropyl)isocyanurate “AP 729”.
The solubility of Tris(2,3-Dibromoisopropyl)isocyanurate “AP 729” in milli-Q water is found to be 5.07 mg/L with pH 6.5 at 20°C, which concludes that the test item is poorly soluble in water.

Description of key information

The result of the test for the measurement of logKow of 1,3,5-tris(2,3-dibromopropyl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-trione showed that the substance appears to be insoluble in water, therefore a limit value has been estimated with Danish (Q)SAR: water solubility is calculated to be 1.14E-005 mg/L.

Additionally, an experimental study has been performed according to OECD Guideline 105 and the solubility of AP 729 in milli-Q water was found to be 5.07 mg/L at pH 6.5 and at 20°C, which concludes that the test item is poorly soluble in water.
