Description of key information

The onset temperature at which a energy release of 20 J/g was found is 150 °C. Thus, the test substance can be considered as stable at room temperature.

Additional information

Two studies are available for thermal stability described by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The key study was conducted similar to OECD guideline 113 (BASF SE, 2015, SIK Nr. 15/2192). The lowest onset temperature was found at 150 °C with an energy release of 20 J/g.

The supporting study was conducted according to DIN 51007 (BASF 1988, SIK-Nr. 96/2126). The lowest onset temperature was observed at 260 °C with an energy release of 25 J/g. No purity was given in this study record which explains the deviation in the onset temperatures of both studies.

Based on the above results, the test substance can be considered as stable at room temperature.
