Additional information

Ethylbenzene is well absorbed by humans and animals following inhalation, oral or dermal exposure routes. It is distributed throughout the body, almost completely metabolised and excreted primarily with urine. The major metabolic pathways are reported as being oxidation, side chain and ring hydroxylation. Conjugates, mandelic acid and phenylglyoxylic acid are the primary excreted metabolites.
