- EU Method A.3 (Relative Density)
- Deviations:
- yes
- Remarks:
- The test was conducted at 25 °C instead of 20 °C as indicated in the guideline EU A.3. However, as the substance is a solid this deviation is considered to be negligible.

- Conclusions:
- The density of the test substance tungsten dioxide (WO2) is 10716 kg/m³.
- Executive summary:
The density of tungsten dioxide (WO2) at 25 °C was determined according to EU method A.3 (pycnometer method). The relative denisty of WO2 was determined from the mean of five individual measurements. The density of the test substance WO2 is 10716 kg/m³.

Additional information
According the CRC Handbook for Chemistry and Physics (92nd edition) the density of tungsten (IV) oxide at room temperature is 10.8 g/cm³.
The density of tungsten dioxide (WO2) at 25 °C was determined according to EU method A.3 (pycnometer method). The relative density of WO2 was determined from the mean of five individual measurements. The density of the test substance WO2 is 10716 kg/m³. The result of this study was chosen as the key study in the chemical safety assessment due to the higher reliability (Klimisch 1) of the test result compared to the handbook data (Klimisch 2).
