Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

(48-hour) EC50: >75 mg/l on mobility Daphnia magna, reliability 2 (read-across from CAS 78-10-4).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

There are no reliable data for the substance. However a 48-hour EC50value of >75 mg/l and NOEC of ≥75 mg/l have been determined for the effects of the structurally analogous substance, tetraethyl orthosilicate (CAS 78-10-4), based on mobility of Daphnia magna and mean measured concentration (>500 mg/L and ≥500 mg/L respectively based on nominal concentration). Under the flow-through exposure conditions used in the test it is likely that the test organism were primarily exposed to the test substance.

This read-across study is considered to be reliability 1 (reliable without restrictions); however the read across of the results is considered to be reliability 2 (reliable with restrictions).
