Description of key information

The 96-h ErC50 of 1.4 mg/L in Chlorella pyrenoidosa as derived with the structural analogue SDEC is used in the assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
1.4 mg/L

Additional information

No short-term tests are available with algae for sodium dibutyldithiocarbamate. The result from the structural analogue sodium diethyldithiocarbamate is used (for details see Reporting Format as attached to the respective IUCLID entry and CSR Appendix A.1). For algae a 96-h ErC50 value of 1.4 mg/L in Chlorella pyrenoidosa from a semi-static non-GLP, OECD 202 guideline study without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985; van Leeuwen. 1986) is used in the assessment.
