Description of key information

The hydrolysis of sodium dibutyldithiocarbamate is fast, a half-life of 41.6 h at a pH of 7 and 25 ºC is used in the assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No hydrolysis study is available for sodium diethyldithiocarbamate. However, data from the structural analogue sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate will be used instead (for details see Reporting Format as attached to the respective IUCLID entry and CSR Appendix A.1). In a GLP-compliant, OECD 111 guideline study (LISEC, 2008) half-lives of sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate are measured in relation to the pH at 25 ºC. The DT50 values are determined to be 0.62 h at pH 4, 41.6 h at pH 7 and 35.9 d at pH 9. The DT50 value of 41.6 h at pH 7 will be used in the assessment.
