In the assessment a 96-h LC50 value of 211 mg/L is used from a non-GLP, OECD 203 guideline study with the guppy Poecilia reticulata conducted under semi-static conditions without analytical monitoring (Azko Nobel Research Laboratories, 1991).

No short-term tests are available with Daphnia and algae for sodium dibutyldithiocarbamate. The results from the structural analogue sodium diethyldithiocarbamate are used (for details see Reporting Format as attached to the respective IUCLID entry and CSR Appendix A.1). A 48-h EC50 value of 0.91 mg/L in Daphnia magna from a semi-static non-GLP, OECD 202 guideline study without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985; van Leeuwen, 1986) is used in the assessment.

For algae also no data are available for sodium dibutyldithiocarbamate. The results from the structural analogue sodium diethyldithiocarbamate are used instead (see Reporting Format as attached to the respective IUCLID entry and CSR Appendix A.1). For algae a 96-h ErC50 value of 1.4 mg/L in Chlorella pyrenoidosa from a semi-static non-GLP, OECD 202 guideline study without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985; van Leeuwen, 1986) is used in the assessment.

An 11-d NOEC of 1 mg/L in Danio rerio (tested as Brachydanio rerio) from a non-GLP, OECD 204 guideline study with the guppy conducted under semi-static conditions without analytical monitoring (Akzo Nobel Research Laboratories, 1991) is used in the assessment.

No respiration inhibition with activated sludge or any other micro-organisms is available for sodium dibutyldithiocarbamate. The results from the structural analogue sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate are used (see Reporting Format as attached to the respective IUCLID entry and CSR Appendix A.1). A 3-h EC50 value of 3.65 mg/L from a GLP-compliant, OECD 209 guideline study with activated sludge (LISEC, 2003) is used in the assessment.
