Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance does not dissolve in water or in octanol
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
A study on CDX-616 was performed to determine the partition coefficient of the test substance, Monoamine Oxidase enzyme, according to OECD Method 107. The study was conducted to comply with the requirements of European Council Directive for 91/414/EEC (Annex II) as amended by European Commission Directive 94/37/EC and amended by Commission Regulation (EU) No. 544/2011 Implementing Regulation (EC) Nov 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the data requirements for active substances. There was no solubility in the octanol phase at 23 °C and therefore no reportable value is available.

A log Kow of -3 at 23 °C (HERA value reported for amylase, lipase, and cellulase:) will be used for the purposes of a Chemical Safety Assessment.

Description of key information

The test substance does not dissolve in the octanol phase at 23 °C and therefore it is not technically feasible to determine the n-octanol/water partition coefficient.  A conservative Log Kow of -3 will be used for the purposes of a Chemical Safety Assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
