Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to Regulation 67/548/EEC A.15 to determine the auto-ignition temperature of the test substance. In a preliminary test the approximately auto-ignition temperature was determined. The lowest temperature at which an ignition in the preliminary lest was observed was used as starting point for the main test. In the case the ignition at this temperature was repeated, the temperature was decreased by 5 K and the lest was repeated. This procedure was repeated until no ignition was observed. Subsequently the amount of lest item added to the apparatus was varied at the same temperature. lf an ignition occurred during the variation of the amount of lest item, the temperature was decreased again by 5 K and the procedure started again. Due to safety reasons and according to the guidelines the lowest measured temperature at which an ignition was observed was round to the next lower number divisible by 5. Therefore the auto-ignition temperature was stated to be 400°C.

Description of key information

The auto-ignition temperature wasdetermined to be 400°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
400 °C
