stability in organic solvents and identity of relevant degradation products
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the stability of the substance is not considered to be critical

Description of key information

Not considered critical

Additional information

In accordance with section R.7.1.16 of the Endpoint Specific Guidance (2012) the stability in organic solvents is required for substances manufactured or imported in quantities of100 t/a only if their stability in organic solvent is considered critical (REACH Annex IX, section 7.15).There are rare occasions when it is important to have information on the stability of a compound in an organic solvent, to ensure confidence in the test results. However, for many substances, the stability in organic solvents will not be critical and testing needs not be conducted.

Thus, the determination of the stability in organic solvents (required in section 7.15) was waived as the stability of the test substance is not an essential property and in addition the experience in handling and use shows the test item is stable in organic solvents (reference 4.17-1).
