- Type of method:
- differential scanning calorimetry
- Specific details on test material used for the study:
- The test item was used in its initial form.
- Melting / freezing pt.:
- 209.6 - 213.8 °C
- Atm. press.:
- 1 atm
- Decomposition:
- no
- Remarks:
- up to 500 °C
- Conclusions:
- The substance melts in the range of 209.6 – 213.8 °C.
- Executive summary:
For the determination of the melting point differential scanning calorimetry method was used, according to the OECD guidelines 102 and 113. The test was carried out at normal atmospheric pressure.
A small amount of test item was weighed into a one-way 40 µl aluminum crucible and sealed with closed aluminum lid using a capsule presser. The measurement was performed under nitrogen atmosphere. Before and after the test, the weight and the appearance of the sample were determined. The experiment was performed in duplicate.
Before the test the appearance of test item was yellow green powder. After the experiments the test item melted in the crucible and became yellowish brown. Using a linear heating rate of 10 °C/min, the melting point of test item was determined to be in the range of 209.6 – 213.8 °C; no further reactions were recorded up to 500 °C.
Conclusion
The substance melts in the range of 209.6 – 213.8 °C.
