Edition dated 27.07.95
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Key result
Water solubility:
3.65 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Incubation duration:
96 h
Temp.:
30 °C
pH:
4.7
Remarks on result:
other: mean value of 3 measurements
Conclusions:
The GLP study was performed according to OECD TG 105 without any deviations on the substance to be registered itself, the results were so obtained via a scientifically reasonable method. Hence, there is no doubt that the obtained results are not reliable: The water solubility was determined to be 3.65 g/L; the substance is soluble in water.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of 3-Methyl-thiazolidin-thion-2 was determined in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 105 using the flask method. According to the definition of the OECD-Guideline 105 the test item shows a water solubility of 3.65 g/L; the substance is soluble in water.

All data indicate a stability of the test item during the period of test and within the test conditions.

Due to a relative standard deviation of < 15 % the test can be stated as valid. The criteria of the OECD 105 "[...] at least the two last vessels do not differ by more than 15 % [..]" was not applied due to the fact that the first of the three vessel had a higher concentration as the second vessel. Therefore the deviation of all three vessels was taken under consideration. The determined concentrations are not recovery corrected.

Description of key information

Water solubility: 3.65 g/L (at 30°C and pH 4.7) [exp. result, OECD 105, flask method, GLP]

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
3.56 g/L
at the temperature of:
30 °C

Additional information

The test item was tested in a GLP study according to OECD-Guideline 105 with the "Flask Method" (without any deviations on the substance to be registered itself, the results were so obtained via a scientifically reasonable method). According to the definition of the OECD-Guideline 105 the test item shows a water solubility of 3.65 g/L; the substance is soluble in water.
