Description of key information

Lobbes 2010: Melting point/freezing point, OECD 102, EU A.1: Melting range >63 to <72 °C
QSAR, Wenighofer 2009: The melting points were calculated for the main components of Resin 835 A:
- Dehydroabietic acid, CAS No. 1740-19-8, 54 % (w/w) of Resin 835 A: 160 °C
- Dihydroabietic acid, CAS No. 19407-37-5, 25 % (w/w) of Resin 835 A: 147 °C
- Pimaric acid, CAS No. 127-27-5, 4 % (w/w) of Resin 835 A: 154 °C
- Isopimaric acid, CAS No. 5835-26-7, 3 % (w/w) of Resin 835 A: 154 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
63 °C

Additional information

The melting range was determined via Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermo Mechanical Analysis (TMA) and was >63 and <72 °C.
