Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Adsorption of MMA to soil was investigated using 5 different soil types. The adsorption constants (Koc) ranged from 8.7 to 72 with an average value of 34. Therefore, adsorption to solid soil phase of methyl meth acrylate is not expected. Based on the calculated Henry´s Law constant (14.7 Pa*m3/mol at 25°C) methyl methacrylate will evaporate moderately from the water surface. In addition, based on a Mackay Level 1 calculation the substance will mainly partition to air (ca. 91.5 %) in this equilibrium model. In the Mackay Level III model, which additionally takes into account transport and degradation processes, MMA, when released to air or water, will predominantly remain in the environmental compartment into which it was released (air: 94.6 %; water: 98.2 %).
