Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
GENERAL INFORMATION
Instantly remove any clothing soiled by the product.
Remove breathing apparatus only after soiled clothing has been completely removed.
AFTER INHALATION
Supply fresh air or oxygen; call for doctor.
In case of unconsciousness bring patient into stable side position for transport.
AFTER SKIN CONTACT
Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
Chemical burns must be treated promptly by a physician. Get medical attention immediately.
AFTER EYE CONTACT
Immediately flush eyes with running water for at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open.
Seek immediate medical attention.
AFTER SWALLOWING
Wash out mouth with water. In the event of swallowing, induce patient to drink plenty of water.
Get medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
Fire-fighting measures
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING AGENTS
Use fire fighting measures that suit the environment.
Material mixture is not combustible
SPECIAL HAZARDS CAUSED BY THE MATERIAL, ITS PRODUCTS OF COMBUSTION OR FLUE GASES
Sulphur oxide (SOx), NiO
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately.
It must not enter drains.
Accidental release measures
PERSON-RELATED SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Avoid causing dust.
Use personal protection equipment.
Use breathing protection against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol.
MEASURES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Do not allow to enter drainage system, surface or ground water.
Do not allow to enter the ground/soil.
MEASURES FOR CLEANING/COLLECTING
Collect mechanically. Move containers from spill area. Prevent entry into sewers, water courses, basements or confined areas. Vacuum or sweep up material and place in a designated, labelled waste container. Dispose of via a licensed waste disposal contractor.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
See "Exposure controls / personal protection" section for information on personal protection equipment.
Handling and storage
HANDLING
INFORMATION FOR SAFE HANDLING:
Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.
Prevent formation of dust.
Ensure that suitable extractors are available on processing machines.
Carry out filling operations only at sites with extractors available.
Any deposit of dust which cannot be avoided must be removed regularly.
Open and handle container with care.
INFORMATION ABOUT PROTECTION AGAINST EXPLOSIONS AND FIRES
No special measures required.
STORAGE - REQUIREMENTS TO BE MET BY STOREROOMS AND CONTAINERS
Prevent any penetration into the ground.
INFORMATION ABOUT STORAGE IN ONE COMMON STORAGE FACILITY
Store away from foodstuffs.
Store away from flammable substances.
FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT STORAGE CONDITIONS
Keep container tightly sealed.
Store in a locked cabinet or with access restricted to technical experts or their assistants.
Ensure sufficient capacity available for collecting up extinguishing agent again.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
GENERAL PROTECTIVE AND HYGIENIC MEASURES
Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and food.
Instantly remove any soiled and impregnated garments.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while working.
Wash hands during breaks and at the end of the work.
Do not inhale gases/fumes/aerosols.
Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
BREATHING EQUIPMENT
In case of brief exposure or low pollution use breathing filter apparatus. In case of intensive or longer
exposure use breathing apparatus that is independent of circulating air.
RECOMMENDED FILTER DEVICE FOR SHORT TERM USE
Filter P3
PROTECTION OF HANDS
Only use chemical protective gloves with CE-labelling of category III.
Check protective gloves prior to each use for their proper condition.
MATERIAL OF GLOVES
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality
and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Nitrile rubber, NBR
PVC gloves
PENETRATION TIME OF GLOVE MATERIAL
The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be
observed.
