Description of key information

The surface tension of Reaction mass of Dimethyl adipate (CAS 627-93-0), Dimethyl glutarate (CAS 1119-40-0) and Dimethyl succinate (CAS 106-65-0) in water (at a concentration of about 1 g/L) was determined to be 67.3 mN/m at 19.9 °C ± 0.1 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:

Additional information

There is one reliable key study for this endpoint. This study (Kühne M., 2010) has been performed according to the OECD Guideline No. 115, the EEC Directive 92/69, EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992 and the Council Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008,30 May 2008,Part A.5, and in compliance with the GLP principles.

The surface tension of Reaction mass of Dimethyl adipate (CAS627-93-0), Dimethyl glutarate (CAS1119-40-0) and Dimethyl succinate (CAS106-65-0) in water (at a concentration of about 1 g/L) was determined to be

67.3 mN/m at 19.9 °C ± 0.1 °C.

Based on the criteria as outlined in the EEC Guideline and the results of this study, Reaction mass of Dimethyl adipate (CAS627-93-0), Dimethyl glutarate (CAS1119-40-0) and Dimethyl succinate (CAS106-65-0) has to be considered as a not surface active substance.
