Additional information

For the freshwater the PNECfreshwateris derived from three chronic toxicity data: two estimated values (fish, daphnid) and a measured 72- ErC10 for algae. For deriving PNEC, the EC10 of algae is preferred over NOEC and growth rate is preferred over biomass (REACH guidances R10 and R7b). The PNEC is based on the data presented in table 1.

Table 1 Parameter values used for derivation of PNEC

When three chronic values are available, an assessment factor of 10 may be used. However the value for the most sensitive species (Daphnia) is an estimated value. Although the NOECs for the three species differ little, an assessment factor of 50 is applied to the Daphnid NOEC value of 2.5 mg/l, as a safe approach. The PNECfreshwateris 0.05 mg/l.

Conclusion on classification

No classification for the aquatic environment. The acute L(E)C50 for fish, Daphnid and algae is not reached at maximum measured water solubility. The estimated NOEC for fish and Daphnid and the measure 72h-EC10 for algae are above the chronic classification threshold of 1 mg/l.
