Additional information

Calcium lactate fully dissociates into Ca2+ ions and lactate. The transport and distribution behaviour of lactate in the environment can be understood in terms of the transport and distribution behaviour of lactic acid.

Lactic acid will be present predominantly in aqueous compartments, will not bioaccumulate or bioconcentrate, and is rapidly degradable, therefore non-persistent.
