Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A study on the biodegradability in water of a close structural analogue (CAS 16470-24-9) is available.

In the ready biodegradability test according to OECD guideline 301A a DOC removal of 1.2 % was observed (CIBA - GEIGY 1992). Hence, the substance was not readily biodegradable.

Moreover, the biodegradation has been calculated using BioWin v.4.10 and no ready biodegradabilty was predicted.

Therefore, the stilbene fluorescent whitening agent with CAS 133-66-4 is considered to be not readily biodegradable.
