Description of key information
The chemical safety assessment of 'α,α'-propylenedinitrilodi-o-cresol' does not indicate the need to further investigate long-term effects on aquatic organisms, with risk characterisation ratios (RCR) for fresh and marine water compartments of less than 1.
Furthermore, 'α,α'-propylenedinitrilodi-o-cresol' is readily biodegradable. For substances considered as "readily biodegradable“, it can be assumed that they will be completely biologically degraded within the STP process. In case of environmental release the substance will be biological degraded within a short time period, which reduces the risk of exposure to organisms.
Therefore, a long-term toxicity study in aquatic invertebrates is not provided.
