Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

the vapour pressure of IOTG at 20°C and 25°C under normal pressure of 101.3kPa:
3.1 +/- 0.35 Pa @20°C(293.15K)
4.6 +/- 0.38 Pa @25°C (298.15)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
3.1 Pa
at the temperature of:
293.15 K

Additional information

Measurements in Tremain's Safepharm Laboratory study were conducted with an isoteniscope under nearly normal pressure with boiling point high above the estimated decomposition point. Moreover the methodology in OECD Guideline method 104 mentions that vapor pressure between 0.1 and 20 Pa are difficult to measure with the isoteniscope method.

Therefore the study selected to characterize the vapour pressure of IOTG is the study carried out by Scheer, Sablowski, Fölsing at the central laboratory BRUNO BOCK Chemische Fabrik.
