Additional information

Regarding the toxic effect of diethylaminoacetonitrile (CAS 3010 -02 -4), one reliable study is available and was selected as the key study together with a re-calculation statement on the data. The non-GLP study was performed according to DIN 38412, Part 9. The test species was Desmodesmus subspicatus. The concentration range was 0.039 to 10 mg/L (BASF AG, 1990; Company Study no. 2/0473/89). The test substance concentrations were not analytically verified.

Concerning the growth rate and based on a recalculation, the 72-h ErC was determined to be 0.28 mg/L, the 72 -h ErC50 1.47 mg/L (recalculation: BASF SE, 2015).

Two further algae studies are available. However, both studies (BASF AG, 1990) were conducted based on test concentrations too high to give definite efect values. Therefore, these studies are not considered further.

The substance is assumed to be acutely toxic to aquatic algae.
