Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of (1-methylethyl)-1,1'-biphenyl (monoisopropylbiphenyl - MIPB) was determined using a method similar to OECD TG 104. From the regression line of log p vs 1/T, the vapour pressure at 20 and 25°C was calculated to be 0.50 and 0.76 Pa, respectively.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of (1-methylethyl)-1,1'-biphenyl was determined based on OECD TG 104 (dynamic method). The regression equation of the plot log p versus 1/T was used to calculate the vapour pressure at ambient temperatures.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.762 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Vapour pressure of (1-methylethyl)-1,1'-biphenyl was determined using two different methods (RÜTGERS 2010: similar to OECD TG 104, and Addison 1983: non guideline GLC method). Results are close together (both below 1 Pa, 0.762 and 0.067 Pa, respectively). Key study is RÜTGERS as the method used follows OECD TG 104, and reliability is higher than the method applied in the Addison study (RL3, WoE).
