Description of key information

The key values are based on a GLP study performed according to OECD Guideline 201 (Alga, Growth Inhibition Test). Analytical support showed that the concentrations of the test item in test media remained within acceptable limits (>80% of nominal concentration). The growth rate inhibition effect concentrations for the inhibition of growth rate were ErC50 = > 100 mg/L, and ErC10 = 49.17 (95% confidence limits: 39.74 – 60.84) mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
100 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
49 mg/L

Additional information

Based on results of the statistical analysis, the NOEC and LOEC values for biomass (cell growth), growth rate and yield were 20.4 and 34.6 mg 2-(N-ethylanilino)ethanol/L, respectively.
