Description of key information

A non GLP-study according to OECD guideline 202 and a GLP study equivalent to OECD guideline 202 are available as key studies for propylene glycol methyl ether acetate. These studies are supported by a GLP-study (full report not available) and a non-GLP study equivalent or similar to OECD guideline 202.

Additional information

In an acute test under semi-static conditions a concentration of 500 mg/l of propylene glycol methyl ether acetate was used. Based on this nominal concentration, the 48-hour EC50 was determined to be superior to 500 mg/l as no immobility was observed. Another acute study in Daphnia magna was carried out under static conditions exposing Daphnia to concentrations ranging from 70 to 2,500 mg/l propylene glycol methyl acetate. Based on these nominal concentrations, the 48-hour LC50 was determined to be 408 mg/l. Supporting studies carried out under static conditions used concentrations ranging from 5 to 1,000 mg/l of propylene glycol methyl ether acetate. Based on these nominal concentrations, 48-hour EC50s of 380 mg/l and 373 mg/l were determined.
