Description of key information

Alpha-amylase is readily biodegradable, has a low octanol-water partition coefficient (<0) and is highly water soluble. From this it can be concluded that alpha-amylase will not absorb to sediment or soil and that no bioaccumulation will occur in aquatic or terrestrial organisms.
