Creighton reviews density data retrieved from structurally and
fuctionally different proteins. They all have densities in the range
between 1.32 and 1.42 g/mL. We ascertain that alpha-amylase also has
density in this range even though not experimentally determined.
The density have been determined for a wide range of different proteins,
this analysis showed that the density range is between 1.32 and 1.42
g/mL. Since alpha-amylase is a protein, we assume that also this protein
has density within this range.

We report the average value of 1.37 g/mL as a representative value of
the density. It should, however, be noted that the uncertainty is
expected to be in the order of +/- 0.05 g/mL.
