EC number: 265-191-7
CAS number: 64742-88-7
A complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained from the distillation of crude oil or natural gasoline. It consists predominantly of saturated hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C9 through C12 and boiling in the range of approximately 140°C to 220°C (284°F to 428°F).
is a hydrocarbon UVCB. Standard tests for this endpoint are intended for
single substances and are not appropriate for this complex substance.
However, this endpoint is characterized using quantitative structure
property relationships for representative hydrocarbon structures that
comprise the hydrocarbon blocks used to assess the environmental risk of
this substance with the PETRORISK model (see Product Library in
PETRORISK spreadsheet attached to IUCLID Section 13).
distribution of the substance in the environmental compartments, air,
water, soil, and sediment, has been calculated using the PETRORISK Model. Based
on the regional scale exposure assessment, the multimedia distribution
of the substance is 91.57% to air, 1.54% to water, 2.07% to sediment and
4.82% to soil. Distribution
modelling results are included in the ‘Multimedia distribution modelling
results’ tab in the PETRORISK spreadsheet attached to IUCLID Section
13 (Redman, A. et al., 2010a).
