A complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained from the distillation of crude oil or natural gasoline. It consists predominantly of saturated hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C9 through C12 and boiling in the range of approximately 140°C to 220°C (284°F to 428°F).
The absolute density ranges from 0.77 to 0.85 g/cm3 at 15 deg C (CONCAWE, 2010a)
density of 0.77 to 0.85 g/cm3 for kerosine was obtained from
Compilation of Selected Physico-Chemical Properties of Petroleum
Substances (CONCAWE, 2010). Density was determined for various kerosine
substances according to ASTM D-4052 and EN ISO 12185 methods.
Additionally, the density of 0.751
to 0.845 g/mL at 15°C for kerosines was obtained form CONCAWE
1994 product dossier.
