First-aid measures

Inhalation: not specifically applicable.

Skin contact: remove all contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash with water.

Eye contact: immediately rinse with plenty of running water for a prolonged period, (at least 15 minutes) whilst keeping the eyes wide open. Always obtain medical advice immediately, even if there are no symptoms. Show this sheet to the doctor.

Ingestion: NEVER attempt to induce vomiting. Rinse mouth out with water.

Use appropriate protective equipment when treating a contaminated person. Place contaminated clothing in a sealed bag for disposal.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Not suitable: strong water jet.

Specific hazards: aqueous liquid. Does not present any particular risk in the event of a fire. Nevertheless, following the evaporation of water, the residue may burn: toxic gases are released.

Protection of fire-fighters: self-contained breathing apparatus. Boots, gloves, goggles.

Suitable : carbon dioxide (CO2), Foam, water spray, multi-purpose powders.

Specific fire fighting methods: do not dispose of fire-fighting water in the environment.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe vapours.

Personal protective equipment: eye/face protection (safety glasses + visor), appropriate gloves, suitable protective clothing. Turn leaking containers leak-side up to prevent the escape of liquid.

Environmental precautions: do NOT discharge into drains or rivers. Contain the spilled material by bunding.

Methods for cleaning up.

Recovery: absorb the product onto porous material. Sweep up or vacuum up the product.

Collect up the product and place it in a spare container: suitably labelled.

Keep the recovered product for subsequent disposal.

Cleaning/Decontamination: wash contaminated area with large amounts of water. Recover the cleaning water for subsequent disposal.

Disposal: dispose of all contaminated materials in accordance with current regulations.

Further information: warning: this product may cause the floor to be slippery.

Handling and storage

Handling.

Technical measures: does not require any specific or particular measures.

Measures: does not require any particular or specific measures. Respect the general rules for occupational hygiene.

Safe handling advice: handle and use in accordance with good occupational hygiene and safety practice.

Storage.

Technical measures: take all necessary measures to avoid accidental discharge of products into drains and waterways due to the rupture of containers or transfer systems.

Storage conditions (Recommended): stable under normal storage conditions. Store at temperatures of between 4°C and 49°C, the container tightly closed, in a well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials.

Incompatible products: Strong bases, strong oxidizing agents, strong reducing agents.

Packaging: Plastic drums. Packaging materials (recommended): Plastic materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures: ensure good ventilation of the work station.

Personal protective equipment.

Respiratory protection: if exposure is likely to exceed the occupational exposure limit, wear suitable respiratory protective equipment.

Hand protection: use suitable chemical-resistant protective gloves (compliant with Standard EN 374-1). The selection of gloves must take into account the extent and duration of use at the workstation. Protective gloves must be chosen according to the function of the work station: other chemicals which may be handled, physical protection necessary (resistance to cutting, puncture, heat), dexterity required.

Eye protection: safety spectacles and a face shield.

Skin and body protection: protective clothing as protection against splashing or contamination.

Selection criteria: personal protective equipment must be defined after risk assessment for the workstation. Protective equipment must be chosen according to current CEN.

standards and in cooperation with the supplier of protective equipment.

Collective emergency equipment: emergency equipment and first-aid box with instructions readily available. Safety shower. Eye fountain.

Hygiene measures: always wash your hands after handling the product. Do NOT eat or drink in the workplace.

Further information: the user is responsible for monitoring the working environment in accordance with local laws and regulations.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: stable at ambient temperature and under normal conditions of use.

Hazardous reactions.

Materials to avoid: strong bases, strong oxidizing agents, strong reducing agents.

Hazardous decomposition products: on combustion or on thermal decomposition (following the evaporation of water). Releases: Carbon oxides (CO + CO2), Nitrogen oxides.

Disposal considerations

Residues from product.

Prohibition: do NOT discharge into drains.

Destruction/Disposal: dispose of in accordance with relevant local regulations.

Contaminated packaging.

Prohibition: do not dispose of the product at a rubbish tip.

Decontamination/cleaning: completely empty the packaging prior to decontamination. Carefully drain and then steam clean.

Destruction/Disposal: recycle following cleaning or dispose of at an authorised site.
