The CMC of the test material was found to be 13.6 mg/L and at 90% of this concentration, i.e., 12.2 mg/L, the surface tension was determined to be 38.5 mN/m.

An analysis of variance test revealed that there is no statistically significant difference (at P = 0.484) of the mean values between pure water and water containing 0.1 – 0.5 mL/L of methanol. It can therefore be assumed that a methanol content within this range has no impact on the surface tension of the test solutions.

The surface tension of amides, C18-18 and C18-unsatd., N-(hydroxyethyl) was 38.5 mN/m at 12.2 mg/L concentration according to OECD Guideline 115.
Executive summary:

An OECD Guideline 115 study was conducted to determine the surface tension of the read across substance amides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd., N-(hydroxyethyl).

The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of the test material was determined to be 13.6 mg/l.. This value of 13.6 mg/l was used as an approximation of the water solubility limit. At 90% of the above estimated solubility limit (12.2 mg/l), using the determined surface tension concentration dependence, the surface tension was calculated to be 38.5 mN/m.
