Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The vapour pressure of Test Material COAGULANT 122 SOLID was determined on the 20th February 1995 using the vapour pressure balance. The waxy sample was maintained below 46°C and on final examination had melted but otherwise seemed unchanged in appearance. There was no condensation onto the balance pan during runs but the sample sputtered making some measurements difficult.

During pumpdown there was some initial degassing of the sample. In Run 1 the initial mass dìfference value was 8.2 µg at 17.35°C (equivalent to about 1.1 x 10 -2 Pascals) with values rising to a maximun of 62.5µg (equivalent to around 8.1 x 10 -2 Pascals) at 35.0°C. At 24.6°C the directly measured value was 18.6 µg (equivalent to around 2.42 x 10 -2 Pascals). The Run l data yielded a vapour pressure relationship (see graphical plot of Run 1) giving the rounded value

Vp(25°C) = 2.70 ± 0.04 X 10 -2 Pascals.

After pumping over some 128 minutes during recooling, the initial measured mass difference of Run 2 was 6.2 µg at 19.75°C (equivalent to about 8.1 X 10 -3 Pascals) with values rising to a maximum of 138 µg (equivalent to around 1.8 x 10 -1 Pascals) at 45.25°C. At 23.9°C the directly measured value was 8.04 µg (equivalent to around 1.05 X 10 -2 Pascals). The Run 2 data yielded a vapour pressure relationship (see graphical plot of Run 2) giving the rounded value

Vp(25°C) = 1.275 ± 0.10 X 10 -2 Pascals.

After pumping over some 142 minutes during recooling, the initial measured mass difference of Run 3 was 5.4 µg at 19.25°C (equivalent to about 2.0 x 10 -3 Pascals) with values rising to a maximum of 139 µg (equivalent to around 1.8 x 10 -1 Pascals) at 46°C. At 25.9°C the directly measured value was 11.8 µg (equivalent to around 1.53 X 10 -2 Pascals). The Run 3 data yielded a vapour pressure relationshìp (see graphical plot of Run 3) giving the rounded value

Vp(25°C) = 1.41 ± 0.05 X 10 -2 Pascals.

In view of the above, the rounded Run 2 and 3 result i.e

Vp(25°C) = 1.35 X 10-2 Pascals

is the suggested vapour pressure.
