Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Remove victim immediately from source of exposure. Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.
Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. Drink plenty of water.
Skin contact: Wash the skin immediately with soap and water. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.
Eye contact: Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Get medical attention immediately. Continue to rinse.
General information: If adverse symptoms develop as described the casualty should be transferred to hospital as soon as possible.
Immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
No recommendation given, but first aid may still be required in case of accidental exposure, inhalation or ingestion of this chemical. If in
doubt, GET MEDICAL ATTENTION PROMPTLY!
Fire-fighting measures
Water spray, fog or mist. Foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry chemicals, sand, dolomite etc.
Avoid water in straight hose stream; will scatter and spread fire. Cool containers exposed to flames with water until well after the fire is out.
Keep run-off water out of sewers and water sources. Dike for water control.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
For personal protection, wear protective gloves and, in case of splashes, goggles/face shield too. Use protective gloves, goggles and suitable protective clothing. Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions:
Do not discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground. Avoid contaminating public drains or water supply. The product should not be dumped in nature but collected and delivered according to agreement with the local authorities.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Extinguish all ignition sources. Avoid sparks, flames, heat and smoking. Ventilate. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers.
Handling and storage
Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Ventilate well, avoid breathing vapours. Use approved respirator if air contamination is above accepted level.
Store in tightly closed original container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.
