Description of key information

For p-isopropyphenyl isocyanate no reliable short-term tests on toxicity to

invertebrates are available. Therefore, the short-term toxicity test of the main hydrolysis product 4-isoproylaniline with the lowest value is used to draw a conclusion on toxicity to invertebrates for the parent compound. The acute toxicity of 4-isoproylaniline was assessed following the EU method C.2 "Acute Toxicity for Daphnia". For Daphnia magna, a EC50 of 0.9 mg/l after 48 h of exposure was obtained (Bayer, 1997).
