Conclusion on classification

In the CLP regulation the identification of acute (short-term) and long-term hazards is based on the aquatic toxicity of the substance, although this shall be modified by taking account of further information on the degradation and bioaccumulation behaviour, if appropriate.

The substance does not meet the criteria for classification under the CLP regulations for hazardous to the environment based on acute fish, daphnia and algal studies, whch gave an EC/LC50 of > 100mg/L, which is above the classification cut-off value of 100 mg/L. The substance also does not meet the classification criteria for Chronic Category 4 because although it is not readily degradable it does not meet the other criteria of poor water solubility and a log Kow ≥ 4. The substance is fully miscible with water and has a log Kow of -2.06.
