Description of key information

The acute toxicity of cis-cyclooctene on Daphnia magna was assessed by Infracor (1998) over a period of 48 hours. Due to the high volatility of the test item the test concentrations could not be maintained within an acceptable range for the duration of the test. Therefore, no valid toxicity values could be derived. However, based on the mortality data, it can be conluded that the EC50 (48 hours) is <0.61 mg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50/LC50 for freshwater invertebrates:
0.61 mg/L
