Description of key information

No study is available. PNECstp can be derived on the basis of tested concentration showing no inhibition of bacteria respiration in the OECD 301F ready biodegradability test (80.3 mg/L as test substance), which can be regarded as a NOEC value for sewage treatment plant microorganisms.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

According to column 2 of Annex VIII, the study is not needed as the substance is readily biodegradable. According to ECHA Ch.R. 10 (ECHA, 2008), the concentration of test substance evaluated in the ready biodegradability test (80.3 mg/L) can be regarded as a NOEC value for sewage treatment microorganisms, as no evidence of respiratory inhibition was observed at this concentration. Using this apparent NOEC value and an assessment factor of 10, a PNECstp value of 8.0 mg/L can be derived.
