Additional information

The components of the UVCB polyglycerine substance are regarded as having very low bioaccumulation potential for the following reasons:

1. The substance and its associated components are demonstrated to be readily biodegradable. As such, exposures to the aquatic environment will be of low concentration, and lifetimes in the aquatic environment are expected to be of very short duration.

2. The estimated octanol-water partition coefficients (log Pow) for the components of this substance are below zero, and thus well below the threshold of log Pow > 3 at which further evaluation of bioaccumulation potential is warranted.

3. The components of this UVCB substance are expected to be rapidly metabolized/excreted if taken up by aquatic organisms. The primary component, glycerine, is a component of naturally-occurring (biogenic) plant and animal fat.
