Derivation of PNECs

The PNECs for the different compartments are calculated either by application of an assessment factor (PNECfreshwater, PNECmarine water, PNECintermittent release and PNECstp) or by using the equilibrium assumption method (PNECsediment-freshwater, PNECsediment-marine-water and PNECsoil). PNECair and PNECoral are not considered as relevant. The utilized procedures are described in detail in the ECHA REACH Guidance of May 2008, Chapter R.10 ("Characterisation of dose [concentration]-response for environment").

Conclusion on classification

Regarding all available data of the acute and/or chronic toxicity tests on aquatic organisms and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, the substance needs to be classified as Aquatic Chronic 3.

Aquatic long-term data are not available for the substance. The most sensitive aquatic short-term toxicity data was determined for Daphnia magna (EC50 (48 h) = 37.72 mg/L; OECD 202). Since the substance is not assessed as rapidly/readily biodegradable and no experimentally determined BCF is available, the environmental classification as Aquatic Chronic 3 is triggered.
