- Water solubility:
- 1.12 mg/L
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- pH:
- 4.83 - 6.75
- Conclusions:
- The water solubility of the substance at 20 °C was 1.12 mg/L.
- Executive summary:
The water solubility of the substance (ethoxymethoxy)cyclododecane was tested under GLP in accordance with EU Method A.6. Appropriate amounts of test substance were weighed into flasks and dissolved in 600 mL of double-distilled water. Flasks were wrapped in foil. Sample solutions were then shaken at 30 °C for 24, 48 or 72 hours. After standing at 20 °C for a period of 24 hours, the contents of the flasks were decanted, avoiding excess test substance then centrifuged at 10000 rpm for 15 minutes and sampled using pipettes. Duplicate aliquots of each sample were extracted with a single 5 mL aliquot of hexane. Hexane solutions were taken for analysis of the substance using gas chromatography. The water solubility of the substance was 1.16 mg/L after 24 hours of stirring, 1.08 mg/L after 48 hours of stirring and 1.81 mg/L after 72 hours of stirring. The pH value of solutions ranged from 4.83 to 6.75. The average water solubility of the test substance at 20 °C was 1.12 mg/L.
