oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance does not contain oxygen or halogen atoms and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

Oxidising properties can be excluded based on structural considerations.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to REGULATION (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) Annex I,, oxidising properties can be excluded based on molecular structure: "For organic substances or mixtures the classification procedure for this class shall not apply if: (a) the substance or mixture does not contain oxygen, fluorine or chlorine; or (b) the substance or mixture contains oxygen, fluorine or chlorine and these elements are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen." The first issue holds true for the substance. Accordingly, the substance needs not to be classified for this property.
