Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No studies investigating the adsorption/desorption behaviour of Fatty acids, C16-18, isopropyl esters (CAS No. 91031-58-2) are available. Using KOCWIN Program (v2.00), log Koc values of 5.44 and 4.60 were calculated for the C16 fatty acid component, based on log Kow and on molecular conductivity index (MCI), respectively. For the C18 fatty acid component the values were 5.92 (log Kow based) and 5.12 (MCI). These models have no universally accepted definition of model domain, but the C18 fatty acid constituent does not fit into the log Kow range of the training set of neither of the methods, and the values for the C18 fatty acid are, therefore, not fully reliable. However, since the main factor determining the log Koc value of fatty acids is the chain length, it is to be expected that the C18 fatty acid constituents have a higher Koc value compared to the shorter constituent. Since the reliable, MCI based value for the C16 constituent already indicates high adsorption potential, it can be assumed that the UVCB substance has high adsorption potential.
