Description of key information

No chemical incompatibility was observed in an OPPTS 830.6314 guideline GLP study using turpentine, water, potassium permanganate solution, monoammonium phosphate solution and zinc metal powder.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a guideline study (US EPA OPPTS 830.6314) conducted according to GLP test article was tested for chemical incompatibility (violent reactions) with water and representative oxidising, reducing and fire extinguishing agents (namely turpentine, water, potassium permanganate solution, monoammonium phosphate solution and zinc metal powder).

Upon combination of the test substance and agent (or water) there were no significant temperature changes and no other indications of reactivity. After approximately 24 h under ambient conditions, there were no observations. In conclusion, no chemical incompatibility was observed under the test conditions.
