Flash point
Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- flash point of flammable liquids
- Data waiving:
- study technically not feasible
- Justification for data waiving:
- the study does not need to be conducted because the flash point is only relevant to liquids and low melting point solids
- Justification for type of information:
- JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with section 2 of REACh Annex XI, flash point measurement does not apply to solids, and melting point is above the highest CLP classification threshold. Please refer to Flammable solids under IUCLID section 4.13.
Cross-reference
- Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
- data waiving: supporting information
Reference
- Endpoint:
- flammable solids
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Study period:
- From 2008-07-07 to 2008-10-07
- Reliability:
- 1 (reliable without restriction)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- guideline study
- Remarks:
- The study was conducted according to an internationally recognised method, and under GLP. No deviation affected the quality of the study. The substance is considered to be adequately characterised with its purity. Therefore full validation applies.
- Qualifier:
- according to guideline
- Guideline:
- EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
- GLP compliance:
- yes (incl. QA statement)
- Remarks:
- Inspected on 05th to 06th and 26th to 30th November 2007 / Decision 30 April 2008 / Signed on 12th November 2008
- Key result
- Test procedure:
- burning rate test: preliminary screening test
- Remarks on result:
- substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period
- Interpretation of results:
- not classified based on GHS criteria
- Remarks:
- GHS and EU-CLP criteria not met
- Conclusions:
- The test item is NOT classified as a flammable solid according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria.
- Executive summary:
The substance was tested for its flammable properties, according to EC A10 guideline, and under GLP.
During the preliminary assay, the item could not be ignited within the 2-min duration of application of the burner flame. Therefore no main test was performed.
During the preliminary test (contact time of about 2 minutes), the substance melted immediately in contact with the ignition source, and could not be ignited.
Therefore, no main test was performed.
