PBT status:
the substance is PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The registered substance contains concentration > 0.1 % of a PBT/ vPvB compound which is Dibenzyltoluene. According to the Echa Guidance R11 related to the PBT/vPvB assessment, in that case, the registered substance has also to be considered as a PBT/vPvB substance.

The information about Dibenzyltoluene is summarised below:

Dibenzyltoluene (called now Dibenzylbenzene, ar-methyl derivative) can be considered as persistent based on the assessment of two of the main compounds of the substance:

The half-life of o,m DBT in an OECD 309 study, was determined as 56 days concluding that this compound fulfils the P criteria. The estimated BCF value for this compound is 10 280 L/kg wet-wt meaning that this compound is potentially very bioaccumulable.

- The half-life of o,o DTPM in an OECD 309 study, was determined as > 10,000 days concluding that this compound fulfils the vP criteria. The estimated BCF value for this compound is 8513 L/kg wet-wt meaning that this compound is potentially very bioaccumulable.
